Full title: "thinking of dancing in the streets"
Created: May 07

A drawing inspired by a friend's status online one day. Upon reading it, this image just 'sprang' to mind and I had to do it. Drawn on paper, then traced and colored in Flash. I like how it turned out.

She was designed specifically for "The Treeva Experience". For more specific details on her design origins, you can check out the scrapbook that's in there. It's a book I believe, near the bottom of the main area of the flash. I don't turn everything I do into a series, you know. I do hope to do a sequel to "The Treeva Experience", but I don't know when that will be. Won't be for awhile, anyway.

Well, this sort of thing is easily done in flash, it just isn't very easy if you plan to animate with that level of detail. Time consuming, as well. But yeah, first you gotta have a basic understanding of how light illuminates on things and causes shadows and whatnot. As for creating the effect, I usually use alpha transparent colors. Y'know, when you set a color, you can change its alpha and create alpha transparent colors and whatnot. Anyway, just draw the shadows on a layer above the drawing and that should do it. If you want more elaboration, lemme know. Thanks!

Eh, I have an MSN, but I'm hardly ever on. Your best bet would be to look for some flash tutorials online. There's a bunch on NG (like the flash section on the forum or under the 'help/FAQ' section or something), Flashkit's good for that too... that sort of thing.

Yeah, same character. A favorite of mine, to be sure. Thanks for the compliment!
