When I first started animating back in 2003, I created an animation called 'Hotrod opened the Matrix', or HOTM for short. It soon became a trilogy of really long episodes (20+ minutes long per episode if watched back to back). Once I got through the first half of part 3, I lost interest in making it and moved on to other things. Fans of HOTM are always asking me when I'll finish part 3, but the truth is, everytime I go to try working on it, I lose interest just as quickly. There are many reasons I feel I cannot continue working on this, but the main reason is that I'm tired of dealing with such an old story, such an old style of animating.
So I figured I'd release what little I did animate of part D, a glimpse at what could've been. It's only 40 seconds long and it's not optimized at all, so it's much bigger than it should be.
If you've never seen HOTM 3 or any of the HOTM episodes, you should turn back now and not waste your time. This is for the fans who already like the series... the same fans who bug me all the time about finishing it.
Yeah, I can understand why you don't want to finish this series. What's the point in finishing a project you no longer feel inspired to do? While it would be nice to see this freakin' awesome series come to an explosively epic conclusion, if you're not totally enthusiastic, it will show. The reason I like the stuff you make is that it feels free and unhindered by peer pressure. Just do what you feel like Rob. And to all of you H.O.T.M. fans who loved this series just as much as I did : hey, it was gracious of Rob to release this animation. You should thank him for this gift instead of nagging him. (By the way, Rob, thanks for this ending. In a way, it's kinda funny that Hotrod never actually opens the matrix!)
I won't, though, and you know it. I could do a storyboard version, or an animatic version, but it wouldn't be an actual finished version. I just don't want to finish it, ever.
...that's the thing I don't have time to do, animating it. Animating it would essentially finish it, you know? Doing an animatic would be easy and simple and would at least offer closure to the story. But who knows, I probably won't even do that. I just don't care about it anymore.
I can't stand working on it anymore. I've tried. I just can't bring myself to do it, mainly because the style is so dated. Seriously, it's like pulling teeth trying to work on it.
yeah... sucked that it wasnt ever finished... lolz... I watched all in one sitting at like 3am I loved it... yeah my brain was fried....
lolz I thought you should know there are some serious freaks out there... like me who when asked to dress up as something to do with H shave off half their beard and attribute it to a web comic... the few friends I know who dont think webcomics are shit laughed their arses off... the others laughed too... God I LOVE pool tables

Too many people failed to get that my last signature was a joke, so I changed it. To this.
That's quite the odd and random story you have there. Fans tell me of wanting to try the half beard, heh. I'd love to see pictures of such nonsense, it'd be awesome. And that'd be quite ridiculous, watching each episode in one sitting. Hell, sitting through the old ridiculous productions intro kills me, they're so long...
